Biographical
Garth is a Saskatchewan farm boy. Raised on the family farm and participating with his parents in the farm operation until 2012 he developed the common sense manner which is the basis of his professional practice. In addition to being a lawyer, Garth is also an inventor, businessman, engineer, and private pilot. It is as a result of this diversity of interests that Garth enjoys the practice of business law and meeting clients with an equal diversity of interests.
Garth graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1982 with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. His graduating thesis was the development of a machine to thresh samples of grain for moisture testing prior to combining. This product, “the Simpler Sampler” portable combine was the beginning of his product design career and the first of the products manufactured by his company which he began in 1981 to manufacture and sell the combine. Since that time and with an interest in adapting electronics for agriculture, Garth designed a series of remote control products, all for use on the family farm. Remote control gates, remote control trailer chute openers, remote control endgates and hoists, and remote control swing auger movers were among some of the products that his company, Brehon Agrisystems Inc., manufactured and sold worldwide. In 2013 Garth sold his company to Kramble Industries which continues the manufacture and sale of these products.
In 1998, Garth returned to the University of Saskatchewan to obtain a law degree. Graduating in 2000, Garth then articled in Saskatoon and in 2004 set up his own law practice. By integrating his engineering and law offices together, Garth was able to create a dynamic atmosphere where clients not only received legal services but were open to discussion of their other non-legal interests. Garth sold his engineering company in 2013, but replaced that void by acquiring an airplane to utilize his private pilot license which he obtained in 2012. As with all of his endeavors, it is about the passion!
Garth is married to a registered nurse and they have three adult children and three grandchildren.
